Discovering Delight with Living Hyphen: A Virtual Writing Workshop for BIPOC

In partnership with Living Hyphen, our March event will be a virtual writing workshop. In Our Tongues is operating on the unceded territory of the Algonquin/ Anishinaabe peoples. Living Hyphen gathers as guests on the sacred territorial land of the Nishinaabeg and Haudenosaunee people and also of the Huron-Wendat and Petun First Nations, the Seneca and most recently, the Mississaugas of the Credit River.

DESCRIPTION:

For those of us who identify as Indigenous, Black, and/or people of colour, we are asked all too often to default to our stories of hardships, trauma, and oppression. But we are all of that and so much more. Our stories are beautiful, heartbreaking, uplifting, contradictory, and constantly unfolding.

What does it mean to lather ourselves in joy? To indulge ourselves in delight? This virtual writing workshop is an attempt to dip our toes in exactly that.

No writing experience necessary.

Date: March 20, 2021
Time: 2-4PM EST
Fee: $5 - $20 or Pay What You Can (PWYC)

You will receive the link to the Zoom event 2 days prior to the event, and again on the day of.
